Wesley's 2 year well check up was yesterday and it felt a little sad because this is the end of the long string of well visits for "baby" -- he won't go back until he's three and every year from there. Oh well, it's the end for Wesley but just the beginning for Claire (and I get to start it all over again.)
We love our doctor and we got a lot of positive feedback on the way he eats and sleeps as well as our disciplining. He was happy to hear that I am consistent, and that I changed tactics when time out wasn't working.
Then the big moment arrived ... How tall is our little man? We've been hearing that you can double a child's height at 2 years if age and that will give you a good idea of how tall they will be as adults. Well, Wesley was off the chart-- 98% to be exact. His official height is 37-1/2" which would make him on goal for 6'3" give or take (I'm betting just 6'1"). And his weight, 34lbs, was 95%.
The doctor told me that I should expect people to think he's 3 years old at the park which is tough because he will be expected to be more mature to other people. I told him that people have been taking him for a 2-1/2 - 3 year old since he was 21 months old. His size 8.5-9 feet don't help either (and that he wears size 3T for the last few months ...)
